Community Nursing Award Nomination: Sarah Minns

Sarah Minns is one of five nurses from across the country shortlisted for the award for her work promoting awareness of prostate cancer at the Trust. Burton Hospitals has worked closely with Burton Albion Community Trust to hold screening sessions for men over 50 over the past year as well as setting up a support group for patients who have been diagnosed with the condition. Midlands Community Club of the Year

Burton Albion was recognised in Parliament for their outstanding community work having been named Midlands Checkatrade Community Club of the Year. Burton Albion Community Trust was commended for introducing prostate checks for fans with PCUK which ultimately led to 11 of the 130 fans tested being referred to hospital, diagnosed with prostate cancer and receiving treatment. Read more …

Awareness Campaign of the Year

Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was pleased to win Awareness Campaign of the Year Award for its work on highlighting prostate cancer. The award was presented at the annual Burton Albion Community Trust (BACT) awards.
