Fighting Prostate Cancer has built a diverse range of support networks to take screening, support and awareness directly into communities, partnering with sports clubs, places of worship, local authorities, and national charities.
Recent highlights include the Bob Willis Fund’s Blue for Bob Day at Edgbaston, where the team raised awareness alongside Sky Sports, shared information with high‑profile figures, and even carried out PSA tests for former England cricketers live on TV and radio—helping to normalise conversations about men’s health in front of mass audiences Blue for Bob Day, May 2025.
The collaboration with the Bob Willis Fund has spanned multiple events since 2024, engaging the cricket community at PCA gatherings and major matches, and amplifying a campaign that has already screened thousands of men and detected numerous cancers Inspired by Bob Willis’ Legacy, Jul 2024.
Alongside sport, the organisation works closely with Freemasons to host free, confidential screening clinics that reach men who might otherwise delay checks. In 2025 alone, Fighting Prostate Cancer partnered with Leicestershire Freemasons for a well‑attended clinic on 26 April, followed by its 55th community clinic with the Shrewsbury Freemasons—milestones that underscore a shared commitment to early detection and practical, local action Leicestershire Freemasons Clinic, Apr 2025, Shrewsbury Freemasons Screening, Oct 2025. Katie Willis, daughter of the legendary England fast bowler Bob Willis, is a driving force behind The Bob Willis Fund, dedicated to honouring her father’s memory by raising awareness and funds for prostate cancer research. Having witnessed her father’s battle with aggressive prostate cancer, Katie is committed to finding better and earlier diagnostic methods for the disease.
