The campaign group Fighting Prostate Cancer brought life-saving healthcare directly to the local community with a dedicated screening clinic at Four Oaks Cricket Club in Sutton Coldfield. Over the course of the event, more than 50 men attended to receive vital health checks and learn more about early detection.
By partnering with a grassroots sports venue, the initiative aimed to make screening easily accessible and comfortable, encouraging men who might otherwise delay medical visits to take a proactive step with their health. Prostate cancer often develops without obvious early symptoms, making regular checks crucial for timely treatment.
The turnout underscored the strong community support and growing local awareness of prostate health. Organisers and club officials praised the collaborative effort, noting that bringing specialist screening clinics into familiar, community-centered spaces plays an essential role in breaking stigmas and saving lives across the region.
