Jyoti Shah recently delivered an expert address at the International Urology Cancer Summit (IUCS 2026), held at the University of Surrey campus in Guildford. Speaking at the Austin Pearce Building during a dedicated live symposium organised and funded by MSD and AstraZeneca, Jyoti tackled the critical clinical challenge: ‘Bridging the gap: when should urologists refer in mCRPC?’
Her presentation focused on how timely referrals from urology teams to oncologists can significantly broaden treatment pathways and improve outcomes for patients diagnosed with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). Drawing on real-world patient case studies to showcase best clinical practice, Miss Shah provided valuable insights into recognising disease progression early and strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration between surgical and oncological care teams.
The session highlighted the vital role of integrated care pathways in modern prostate cancer management, equipping healthcare professionals with practical strategies to optimise patient care.
